Paula Deen Cooks Beef Tenderloin Video

Hey y'all! Aunt Peggy and I are making dishes for our Holiday dinner every week in December, and this week we made the main course, a delicious Beef Tenderloin. I got such raves for it last year that I had no choice but to make it again. Not that I mind, this is a beautiful piece of meat.

Earlier this week I promised to reveal the secret ingredient that will make your Beef Tenderloin explode with flavor! Here it is: bacon grease. I congeal bacon fat and rub it all over the Tenderloin. Just a little bit to add some flavor and fat to the meat. It tastes so good!

Whatever main dish you are cookin', be sure to watch that oven so you don't burn the dish. Overcooking meat and poultry is a very easy thing to do, and no one likes a dried out dish. Ok, so, when my husband and I move in with my mother and bring our five kids, and they? ask why, I'll tell them it was all about that tenderloin, baby.

Looks and sounds great for Xmas. I know that my family are always at odds about the doneness of red meats; I never go above? medium-rare whereas my grandparents insist on their meat being well done. I would cut a small, but nice chunk of that off and put it into a cooking bag so it can be both well done and moist..

Just made this yesterday for Mother's Day. Turned out AWESOME. Got the tenderloin on sale for 8.99? a pound and wrapped with bacon like Aunt Peggy said. It took a long time to cook the two pieces I had - total of 5 pounds for 45 minutes but it was perfect and everyone raved about it. I gave all the credit to Paula and Peggy. Thanks for sharing.

The result just made me wince.... pan sear the tenderloin first in the bacon fat to give it a golden brown appearance, then add the salt and herbs... then place it in the oven, the over all presentation will? be greatly enhanced

Expensive? You bet, ...
Expensive? You bet, mine just cost us $110.00! But I bought enough to feet 9-10 people. Had to buy 2 peices so all of it would be really considered the fillet, and not? the less tasty, less tender parts. If you buy the entire un trimmed tenderloin, you can use the ends for stews etc. Make sure you have the butcher remove the silver skin. Merry Christmas folks!
